What Are the Metal Coil Coating Line Advantages

图片
Coil coating is the way in which the coating material is applied to a strip of steel or aluminum. A coil of sheet metal is fed continuously into the process, which is controlled by accumulators at each end of the line. They load the bare metal coils at one end and release the finished product at the other end. In between, a coil coating process is used. What we are doing actually means high speed, continuous coil coating. What makes high speed, continuous coil coating possible is the uninterrupted application of cleaning, handling, coating, curing and potential leveling, while the sheet is flat, all in one high speed path through the coil  coating line.   Advantages Coil coating is replacing traditional manufacturing methods with value-added processes. The old practice of painting unpainted cars is being replaced by penetrating metal sheets. They are used for Nip coating or Dip coating with minimal solvent usage, helping to reduce VOC's. Coil coating is applied to flat ...

Development of Pre-painted Metals and Coating Methods

图片
Pre-painted metals are produced by continuously adding paint or film coatings to strip metals, primarily steel and aluminum. This process is called coil coating. The process involves cleaning and chemical pretreatment of the metal surface and one or both sides as necessary, single or multiple applications of (liquid) paint or coating powder, followed by curing or lamination with plastic film. The coated surface can have a wide range of colors, gloss levels and surface textures. It is the end use of the finished product that determines the coating choice. The user may require non-stick properties, high flexibility or high chemical resistance. Modern developments offer many new coating types to meet the growing needs of users.  Manufacturer LITONG  gives you an overview of developments in metal coating technology and paint technology. Painting metal industry There are several options for applying paint to metal. In the field, it is common to spray or brush; in the factory...

The Science Behind Aluminum Soda Can Coatings

图片
You've probably heard some horror stories about your soda of choice. But could the seemingly insignificant and greatly overlooked soda be worse for you than the drink inside? A lot happens to soda cans under their aluminum surfaces. They are lined with a protective cover that prevents the soda inside from reacting with the metal.    Carbonated Carbonated beverages are often corrosive, not only to our teeth but to metal as well. This is because, in addition to carbonated water and lots of sugar, sodas also contain acid. Acids react with and corrode all kinds of metals, including the aluminum used in soda cans. If a typical soda is packed in an aluminum can without a protective cover, it can end up eating the material. This is because of phosphoric acid and citric acid. Soda can manufacturers, such as Ball, have determined that these substances have high corrosion levels and must be compensated for. To prevent any accidents, a protective coating is added to the inside of ...

Paint vs. Powder Coil Coating: Which Is Better?

图片
There are many questions in the powder coating vs. paint debate. How durable are powder coatings? Is powder coating better than paint? The answer can be boiled down to which of the two processes best meets the following criteria in   coating lines. 1. Cost-effectiveness of paints and powder coatings When considering economic factors, the main benefit of the powder coating process is its efficiency. With a typical transfer efficiency of 60-70%, approximately two-thirds of the powder used for a given application will achieve its intended purpose. In contrast, coatings have a transfer efficiency of only 30-35%, thus wasting two-thirds of the coating used for a given application. Even if you take the remaining volume into account, the powder application does not lose everything. Once the powder coating is complete, the percentage of powder that falls to one side can be collected and reused in the next cycle. Spray painting is not possible with this form of protection, and if it ...
